How Many Days Does SPC Flooring Production Actually Take From Deposit to Shipment 2025
When a factory tells you production takes 20 days, what exactly happens during those 20 days Here is the step by step breakdown of each stage.
Day 1 to 2 Raw Material Preparation
After receiving your deposit, the factory checks raw material inventory. If all materials are in stock, production can start immediately. If any material needs to be ordered, this adds 2 to 4 days. Factories that maintain good inventory can start faster.
Day 3 to 5 Extrusion Line Setup
The extrusion line is calibrated for your product thickness and core density. The print film for your selected color is installed. A test run of 50 to 100 planks is produced and checked for dimensional accuracy and color match. If the test is approved, full production begins.
Day 5 to 12 Core Extrusion and Printing
The SPC core is extruded continuously. The printed design layer and wear layer are applied. The plank is UV coated and cured. This is the longest continuous stage. A standard production line produces 8,000 to 12,000 square meters per day. For a 20ft container of 2,000 to 3,000 square meters, extrusion takes 1 to 2 days. For larger orders, this stage scales proportionally.
Day 12 to 14 Cooling and Stabilization
After extrusion, the planks are stacked in the cooling area. They must reach room temperature before further processing. This takes 24 to 48 hours depending on the season. Proper cooling is critical for dimensional stability.
Day 14 to 16 Cutting and Profiling
The cooled planks are cut to final length. The locking system is profiled on both edges. Each plank is checked for locking mechanism quality. Planks that do not pass are removed.
Day 16 to 17 Packaging
Planks are packed into cartons. Cartons are stacked on pallets. Pallets are stretch wrapped and labeled. Labeling includes product name, color code, batch number, quantity, and barcode. A 20ft container requires about 4 hours for packaging.
Day 17 to 19 Quality Check and Loading
Final QC checks are performed on random samples from each pallet. The factory loads the container or arranges trucking to the port. A loading report with photos is sent to the buyer.
Total Production Time
Standard 15 to 20 working days for SPC flooring without custom requirements. Custom colors add 5 to 7 days for print film production. Custom packaging adds 2 to 3 days. Peak season October to February adds 5 to 10 days to the queue. Summer production adds 3 to 7 days due to cooling and schedule adjustments.
