How to Verify a SPC Flooring Factory in China Before Placing an Order 2025

There are hundreds of SPC flooring factories in China. Some are established manufacturers with years of export experience. Others are small workshops that produce inconsistent quality. Here is how to verify a factory before you send money.

Step 1 Online Verification

Check the factory website. Does the website look professional. Does it list a physical address with a factory photo or video. Does it have years of experience listed. Search for the factory name on Alibaba or Made in China. Check how long they have been on the platform. Read reviews from other buyers. Look for the company name on Google with words like review or complaint. Search for the factory address on Google Maps. Street view can show you if the address is a real factory or a residential building.

Step 2 Request Documentation

Ask for the business license showing the registered company name and address. This is a public document in China and factories should provide it. Ask for export records or customs declaration history. Ask for product test reports from third party laboratories. ISO 9001 certification for quality management. Floorscore or CARB certification for emissions if relevant.

Step 3 Communication Test

How quickly does the factory respond to your inquiry. Do they answer your questions directly or give vague answers. Do they speak your language clearly. A good factory has English speaking sales staff. Do they offer samples without hesitation. Factories that are hesitant to send samples may have something to hide. Do they suggest alternative solutions or only push their standard products. Good factories advise you based on your needs. Bad factories just try to close the sale.

Step 4 Third Party Inspection

Use a third party inspection company to check the factory and product quality. SGS, Bureau Veritas, and TUV are commonly used. The inspector checks the factory size, equipment, and production capacity. They check raw material inventory and quality control procedures. They inspect finished product quality against your specifications. The inspection cost is a few hundred dollars and is worth the peace of mind.

Step 5 Visit the Factory

If your order value is high, visit the factory in person. See the production line with your own eyes. Check the raw material storage area. Are raw materials stored properly. Check the finished product warehouse. Is the packaging clean and organized. Meet the production manager and quality control staff. Ask about their QC process and defect rate. A factory visit is the best way to build trust.

Step 6 Check References

Ask for references from at least two buyers they have worked with. Preferably buyers in your country or similar market. Contact the references and ask about their experience with product quality, delivery time, communication, and problem resolution.

Red Flags

Factory cannot provide a clear address. Factory name does not match the business license. Communication is slow or evasive. References are not available or seem fake. The factory pushes for full payment upfront. The factory does not allow third party inspections.
