Flooring With Aluminum Oxide Finish That Does Not Expand

Aluminum oxide is the gold standard for floor surface durability. It is the same material used in sandpaper and industrial abrasives. Applied to flooring, it creates an extremely hard surface that resists scratches and wear.

Laminate flooring uses aluminum oxide. This is why laminate is so scratch resistant. But the HDF core under the aluminum oxide surface expands and contracts. The surface durability is wasted on an unstable core.

MFB uses the same aluminum oxide surface technology. The surface is just as hard and scratch resistant. But the mineral fiber core does not expand. The result is a floor with premium surface durability and no dimensional movement.

Why Aluminum Oxide Matters

Aluminum oxide creates a surface that is harder than the materials that scratch it. Sand and grit tracked in from outside are the main source of floor scratches. An aluminum oxide surface resists these scratches better than untreated vinyl or wood.

The hardness is measured on the AC rating scale. AC3, AC4, and AC5 indicate increasing hardness. MFB with aluminum oxide surface achieves AC4 to AC5 ratings, the same as premium laminate.

Combined With Stable Core

The problem with laminate has always been the core. An AC5 rated laminate surface on an HDF core means the surface outlasts the core. The core fails from moisture or expansion before the surface wears out.

MFB solves this. The aluminum oxide surface and the mineral fiber core have matching lifespans. The floor wears evenly without the core failing first.

For buyers who want the most durable floor surface combined with a core that does not move, MFB is the best option.

Which Product Combines Both

MFB flooring is the only product that combines an aluminum oxide surface with a mineral fiber core. The surface provides the scratch resistance of premium laminate. The mineral core does not expand or contract. MFB is the answer for buyers who want the most durable surface on a stable waterproof core.
