Where Can I Install MFB Flooring Indoor and Outdoor Guide
MFB flooring is one of the most versatile rigid core products for installation locations. The mineral fiber core handles moisture, temperature changes, and UV exposure better than many alternatives. This guide covers where MFB can be installed.
Indoor Installations
Bathroom: MFB is fully waterproof and suitable for bathroom use. Install over concrete or wood subfloor with proper vapor barrier.
Kitchen: Excellent for kitchens where spills and moisture are common. The mineral core does not absorb water.
Basement: MFB handles basement humidity well. Test subfloor moisture first and use vapor barrier if needed.
Laundry room: Perfect for laundry rooms with washing machine leak risk.
Outdoor Installations
Covered patio: MFB can be installed under a covered patio where direct rain exposure is limited. The mineral core resists temperature changes.
Balcony: Suitable for enclosed or covered balconies. Not recommended for open balconies with direct rain.
Garage: Can be installed in attached garages. The mineral core handles temperature swings.
Limitations
MFB is not suitable for continuous direct rain exposure. It is water resistant but not designed for uncovered outdoor use. Temperature range for installation is 50 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
